Welcome to Tenchi Returns

Tenchi Returns is a dedicated fansite to the Tenchi Muyo RPG released in 1995 by Banpreso. The Tenchi Muyo RPG was never released outside of Japan, the reasoning for this is unknown, it is more than likely because there would be translation difficulties and that the game is unlikely to sell huge amounts outside of Japan. Well, they were very wrong. For many years this game has remained untouched by the West. Few people knew of its existence. However, in 2000 a team of Rom hackers and translators got their hands on it, and we now have the Tenchi Muyo RPG in reasonable English.

The Tenchi Muyo RPG is one of the most fun games around. Based of the hugely popular, Tenchi Muyo series, the game revolves around a main character being kidnapped and the rest of the group having to find that person and destroying the enemy. We see the return of Tenchi, Washu, Ryoko, Mihoshi, Ayeka, Yukinojo, Azaka, Kamadake, Ryo-oh-ki, Yosho/Katushito and Sasami. We also see some enemies in this game, some that may be a little unexpected. But the surprise will not be ruined here!

The game itself is a typical turn based RPG game. It’s absorbing and amusing, right from the start of the game. Even in the Japanese the game is playable and amusing. When the game first starts off, we get the usual banter between Ryoko and Ayeka, with Sasami’s usual pleas for them to stop. It then turns more sinister; however, throughout the entire game, the mood is somewhat light hearted and amusing. It’s a great game.
